In this publication, the author takes insight into different dychotomies and reductionist stances present in the scientific discourse, and public debate. They are often treated as a kind of paradigms (e.g. subject – object). For this reason, the aim of the author’s analyses is to search for the possibilities of cooperation, co-composition and the application of multi-perspective approach between these extremes. By showing relationships we do not indicate that some categories are equivalent to each other and we do not deprive them of their ontological separateness or reality. What is the dominant research approach in the presented work is the complementarity principle. Its essence lies in dialogue, dynamics, openness and pluralism. It does not rule out the approval for alternativeness as something unique. The acceptance of the complementarity principle in theory and research practice in the context of individual and structural determinants is aimed at the appreciation of the category of subjectivity.
